A machine for mixing hempcrete — a blend of hemp hurd, lime, and water used in sustainable construction — has been constructed.
The machine was designed by Ervin Šilić, founder of Kanaba, based on practical experience working with hempcrete and real on-site requirements. Existing international solutions proved financially difficult to access, creating an opportunity to develop a proprietary, tailored, and more cost-effective system.
The machine is engineered to accommodate one standard bag of hemp hurd combined with a precisely defined quantity of lime and water — the optimal ratio for a single mixing cycle. This ensures consistent mixture quality, improved process control, and greater efficiency on the construction site.
The development of this machine represents an important step toward increasing the accessibility and professionalization of hemp-based construction in Croatia.
